When the sun is shining you have a choice to make – do you let the light in, or do you keep it out? Whichever decision you make, JYSK has a wide selection of curtains and blinds that do the job, look great, and don’t cost the earth. Roller blinds help create a minimalist look to your home and if you like Scandinavian décor they can help you complete that Nordic look. Curtains, on the other hand, come in a variety of styles and fabrics that determine their looks and functionality. Sheer curtains bring a soft, dreamy look to the room. Curtains in heavier fabrics are ideal for creating a more cave-like feeling. Whether you have a preference for simple, straight curtains or you think that pleated curtains would suit your room better, we have a great variety to choose from in a wide array of colours and lengths. If you like to make your curtains, you will be able to also purchase rails and fabrics. Shop online or visit your nearest JYSK store to explore our range of affordable and stylish curtains and blinds.
If you like the ease of being able to hang something the minute you get home, then our selection of blinds will suit your needs. We have roller, Venetian and bamboo blinds available for you to buy. Choose from a variety of colours and materials, as well as blackout blinds to help you get a better night’s sleep.
Roller blinds and Venetian blinds are becoming more and more popular, as they are both practical and affordable. If you're after aluminium Venetian blinds in your home, you will need a pair of Venetian blind scissors to easily shorten the blinds both length-wise and width-wise in order to fit them. Whereas roller blinds can only be adjusted width-wise. A further window solution is pleated blinds. You can easily fit roller blinds or Venetian blinds yourself, using the pieces supplied.
Traditional fabric curtains can help create a cosy atmosphere in the room, as well as being very practical for privacy and to keep out sunlight if it is getting too much for you. They don't have to be heavy and dull, if anything they can be the total opposite. Consider using thin curtains for a light and airy feel, but then combining them with a blackout blind, in order to aid a better night's sleep. Fabric curtains also work really well in a child's bedroom if you go for more bright colours or cute patterns. Choose from a range of ready-made curtains as well as net, voile and blackout curtains all at affordable prices.
If there is a care label on your ready-made curtains you should of course follow it. Choose the recommended gentle cycle - typically a wool program with low spin. It is important that the water level is high, as high water level protects the fabric. If you have large curtains, consider whether you would rather do two washes, instead of putting both curtains together in the same wash.
If you are unsure whether the curtains can take a cycle in the washing machine, then you can of course wash your curtains by hand. Whether you wash your curtains by hand or machine, it's a good idea to hang them while they are still damp to avoid unnecessary folds while drying. Wring them well up or centrifuge them on low speed. Add newspapers or a towel under the curtains to collect excess water so you protect your floor.
