Safeguard your mattress with a mattress protector

A mattress protector helps protect and prolong the life of your mattress. As a mattress protector is significantly cheaper to purchase than a mattress or mattress topper, it's more budget-friendly to swap out your mattress cover once in a while, and in turn make your mattress last for years.

There are many advantages of using a mattress protector:

• Protects the underlying mattress by absorbing moisture and dirt
• Keeps the underlying mattress from staining
• Improves your bed hygiene by being machine washable
• Good for people with a dust mite allergy, as it tolerates frequent washing
• Can help decrease noises from your mattress

There are a couple of different aspects you should look for, when choosing your new mattress protector, such as size, quilting and material.

Mattress protector sizes

When choosing the right mattress protector, you first of all need to pick a size that fits you mattress. At JYSK we offer mattress covers in the following sizes:

The quilting helps distribute the filling evenly, and adds an additional layer of padding to increase comfort. An extra deep mattress protector has a thick quilting that provide additional comfort and protection.

Mattress protector materials

A mattress protector usually consists of several materials that can vary from the front to back and to filling or quilting.

If you suffer from a dust mite allergy, using a mattress protector is generally a good idea, as it's easy to clean frequently to achieve good bed hygiene. You should look for a mattress protector that can tolerate a warm washing program of minimum 60°C, to ensure that dust mites are eliminated.

Waterproof mattress protector

A waterproof mattress protector repels water and other liquids from penetrating through to the mattress. A waterproof mattress protector is a great choice for children or others, who can have accidents during the night. We also offer a selection of waterproof sheets.

Cooling mattress protector

If you tend to get hot during the night, you can choose a cooling mattress protector. The casing on this mattress protector features cooling and temperature-regulating microcapsules that help create a dry and comfortable sleeping environment.

We recommend that you use a mattress protector to prolong the life of your mattress. A mattress protector should always be placed directly under sheet. The mattress cover can be placed either directly on your mattress or on your mattress topper.
