Window with transparent curtain in kitchen

The buyer’s favourite within window dressing

Each year, we ask our Category Manager within Window dressing, Lene Østerberg, about her favourites in the new assortment in JYSK. “The curtains that you choose, subtly tell the story about your home and you as a resident”, Lene begins. “Therefore, there are many considerations when choosing new curtains. All depends on the overall style you want to achieve and the specific characteristics of the room”, she says and goes on to highlight her favourites this season.

GODDO and ERKEN heavy curtains

“On sunny days, we want to reduce light shining into our rooms, and on colder days, we want to create a cozy and sheltered feeling. Our heavy curtains GOODO and ERKEN are ideal for both situations.

ERKEN is made in a trendy off white teddy material – a luxurious and practical addition to any home. GODDO has a stylish dark sand colour and falls beautifully and will contribute nicely to your home styling. From my perspective, they fit specifically well in a bedroom or a living room, where you want cosy atmosphere”, Lene says with a smile.

GODDO’s heading has both curtain ties and hidden loops. ERKEN also offers two installing alternatives: curtain tape with hooks and pole pocket. This means that both curtains hang either from a traditional curtain rail or on a curtain rod. GODDO is made with over 50 % recycled polyester. And ERKEN contains more than 25 % recycled polyester.

HUGLA and IDSE light curtains

“For sunshine without the glare, you want a lighter curtain – and if you want privacy with a view, maybe even a delicate voile curtain like HUGLA”, Lene begins her description of two of her other favourites. “HUGLA is snow white and has a beautiful tone-in-tone pattern. It elegantly filters sunlight through its fabric, and it is ideal as an inner layer in combination with a tightly woven curtain that can shield more effectively from the sun.

If you want your room to feel open and airy, another option is IDSE. It is specifically designed to control natural light entering a room. The soft beige colour and tightly woven structure bring life to any home.

HUGLA has curtain tape with hooks and a pole pocket allowing you to install it on a curtain rail or a curtain rod. IDSE is made of 100 % cotton (of which 20 % is recycled) and has hidden loops so you can hang it on a curtain rod.

KVINGLA dimout curtain

If you want something in between a heavy curtain and a blackout curtain, consider a dimout curtain

“KVINGLA is a beautiful dimout curtain in a stylish grey. I find that grey curtains have a unique ability to balance light and warmth, creating an inviting atmosphere in any room. This curtain is both sophisticated and practical as it complements a wide range of colours”, Lene says.

KVINGLA is made of polyester (of which 22 % is recycled). It has eyelets, making it very easy to install in a curtain rod.

Dimout curtains dim the inflow of light by 80-90%. Conversely, blackout curtains prevent all light from entering the room.
