Modular sofas made for relaxing your way

A modular sofa gives you more choice when it comes to arranging your living room. Made up of separate sections, it can be used to create different seating layouts depending on the range and modules available. Choose a modular corner sofa to make use of an empty corner, or add a chaise for extra space to stretch out and relax.

Before choosing your sofa, think about how much space you have and how you use your living room. Measure the area where you want your sofa to sit, including the full width and depth of the configuration. Don’t forget to check doorways, hallways and other access points too, especially if you’re choosing a larger sofa.

A small modular sofa can be a good choice for a more compact living room, while a large modular sofa can fill a bigger space and give everyone room to get comfortable. You can also create an L-shaped layout with the right combination of modules, making it easy to create a cosy spot for relaxing, watching TV or spending time together.

You may see both modular sofa and sectional sofa used when looking for this type of seating. While they are closely related, they describe slightly different things. A sectional sofa is made up of several connected sections, while a modular sofa is built from separate modules that are combined to create a particular arrangement.

This means a modular sofa can be used to create a sectional-style layout. The exact combinations available will depend on the sofa range, so check the individual product details when choosing your configuration.

The right sofa should work with the rest of your living room, too. Neutral colours such as beige, brown or grey are easy to style with different furniture and accessories, while green or blue can add a little more colour to the room.

The upholstery and shape can change the overall look as well. A modern modular sofa with clean lines can suit a contemporary space, while a modular leather sofa gives the room a more classic feel. For a more relaxed look, a low modular sofa can create a laid-back feel that works well with soft rugs, cushions and throws.

Some modular sofas also come with practical features such as built-in storage. Check the product details to see which features are included with the sofa you choose.

Once you've found your sofa, add a few finishing touches to make the space feel like your own. A coffee table keeps everything within easy reach, while a rug can help define the seating area. Cushions, throws, lamps and other accessories are simple ways to bring in more colour and texture.

Whether you're creating a cosy corner or a larger seating area, the right combination of furniture can make your living room feel comfortable and welcoming.
