WEEE Recycling

WEEE & Battery RECYCLING AT JYSK

At JYSK we take recycling and the environment very seriously.  When you purchase any electrical product from JYSK we will recycle your old one for free.

You can return your old electrical item and any used batteries to any JYSK store and we will ensure they are responsibly recycled.

WHAT IS WEEE?

WEEE stands for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. The UK WEEE Regulations aim to reduce the amounts of electrical products which are incinerated or landfilled. The Regulations encourage the recovery, reuse and recycling of electrical products and their components.

Producers of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE) must play a part in managing end of life electrical products to protect the environment - we work in partnership with REPIC to ensure that waste electricals and batteries are responsibly recycled.

WHY IS WEEE & Battery RECYCLING IMPORTANT?

Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle electrical equipment and batteries, they will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.

To remind you that old electrical equipment and batteries can be recycled, they are marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment or batteries in your bin.

JYSK is registered in the UK under the WEEE registration no. WEE/BU3665YA and the Battery registration no. BPRN08410
