Before you begin using your new towels you should soak them in cold water for 24 hours and then wash them according to the washing instructions. This will cause the cotton fibres to open up and give the towels better absorbency. At the same time any remaining excess colour will disappear. You can also add some vinegar to the cold water. The vinegar binds the colour to the cotton, so that the towels are better at keeping their colour.
Do not use fabric conditioner when you wash towels
Do not use fabric conditioner when washing your towels. The fabric conditioner will form a film on the cotton that impairs the towels absorbency and drying performance.
Wash your towels at 60 degrees
You should wash your towels separately the first few times and always together with similar colours. Always wash your towels at 60 degrees, which ensures that any bacteria is killed. However, be aware that towels in velvet should be washed at 40 degrees if you want to preserve the colours and the soft surface. It is always a good idea to check the washing instructions on your towel.
Tumble drying makes the towels soft
We recommend that you tumble dry your towels after washing. It makes your towels really soft.
